A breakthrough at last. I have finally talked my boss into allowing me to work on a business proposal for a brand new wildlife photography website to be launched this summer.
This is an idea I have had for some time now. What I want to do is offer a realistic opportunity for wildlife photographers, both professional wildlife photographers and amateur wildlife photographers like myself to make money out of their wildlife photos, and actually see in print!
Too often restrictions by photo agencies and publishers has seen the wildlife photography industry become elitest in the extreme considering the huge popularity of photography in general.
I am a regular on the photography forums and have my own wildlife photography website (www.photovisionstudios.com) displaying my own wildlife photos, in 1998 I won a highly commended award in the prestigious BG Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, and I would consider myself a reasonable photographer, however it is totally out of the question to even think of a career in wildlife photography.
There are many thousands of really great photographers out there who posting an extremely high quality of wildlife photography on forums everyday. Many of these photographers including myself would like to be able to realistically make money out of our wildlife photography however due to the way the industry is currently setup it is almost impossible to make a breakthrough into it in any way.
What I am looking to do is to kick the doors wide open to the industry, make it accessible to all those capable photographers posting their work on forums. At the same time I want to offer a better service for picture editors and publishers than they are currently getting from scrupulous photo agencies. I want to give them access to everyone not just the few. Visit www.photovisionstudios.com to find out more about the forthcoming website.
Hi people, if you have just come from my website what did you think of it, did you like what you're saw?...
I must admit I am a complete virgin blogger...
Blogging is all that I have heard from colleagues in the know, and as I have recently launched my first website exhibitting my own wildlife photography (http://www.photovisionstudios.com) I figured I may as well give it a go.
My site is non-commercial and it is the first time I have shown my work in any particular quantity so I am keen on feedback....
